At the heart of the suite is the Caching Server, which in addition to performing the caching operations which make Android Data remarkably efficient, also supplies the business logic for each of the thin client applications. The Content Manager and the Administrator's toolkit communicate across the Internet with the Caching Server, allowing users to update product information, download orders, create online surveys, send email broadcasts, etc. Because the Caching Server runs as a Windows 2000 service, it can run in a different security context as Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS), which allows the Caching Server to perform complex operations such as image processing without compromising the security of your network.
